Denim has long been a cornerstone of fashion, beloved for its versatility and timeless appeal.

As we step into Fall 2024, denim trends are evolving, bringing fresh and exciting styles to the forefront of fashion. This year, we're seeing a resurgence of classic cuts and the introduction of innovative silhouettes that promise to redefine our denim wardrobes. From the chic and contemporary barrel style to the timeless straight leg, the nostalgic bootcut, the dramatic flare, and the effortlessly cool wide leg, 2024's denim trends offer something for everyone. Let's dive into these five standout styles and explore how to incorporate them into your everyday look.

There are five key styles you are going to see as we inch into the Fall season. The first one described here is a totally new style making an entrance into fashion this year. These barrel jeans are a must have if you love to sport a trend!

Barrel Style Jeans: High-rise, loose fit through the leg, tapered at the ankle. This style often has a seam at the knee bringing the fabric in to create an arched look, aka "the barrel".

Trend Origin: Mention any designers or fashion shows that highlighted this style. We started seeing this style early this year and as Fall approaches it will be ever so popular.

Styling Tips: Pair with fitted tops or blouses, sandals, loafers or heels. Trending style that looks great on lots of body shapes as long as the woman knows the style has an oversized look to it.

Straight Leg Jeans: Classic, straight cut from hip to ankle. The one style that seems to never go out of style. Straight leg jeans can come in mid or high rise.

Trend Origin: The resurgence of 90s fashion.

Styling Tips: Versatile with both casual and formal wear, can be paired with sneakers, sandals, boots and loafers. This style jean looks great on any body shape.

Bootcut Jeans: Slightly More Relaxed (compared to flare) through the thigh with a subtle flare starting at the knee. Bootcut jeans also almost always come LONG as they are a great jean to elongate the leg and cover a shoe, but watch out for that inseam if you are petite.

Trend Origin: Popular in the early 2000s, and becoming a classic style because they're so flattering on so many body shapes.

Styling Tips: Ideal for balancing proportions, especially with boots or chunky heels. These jeans are a favorite with pear, hourglass and rectangle body shapes.

Flare Jeans: Very Fitted through the hip and thigh, flaring out dramatically from the knee. Flare jeans are great for body shapes which need to create the illusion of curves as flare jeans will create those lines naturally while highlighting the tushy. Flare jeans also almost always come LONG as they are a great jean to elongate the leg, but watch out for that inseam if you are petite.

Trend Origin: 70s revival in modern fashion.

Styling Tips: Pair with platforms or heeled boots, and tucked-in tops to emphasize the waist and the tushy. Apple, rectangle, inverted triangle look best to create curves at the "bottom" of the figure. Although pear and hourglass shapes look great in this style because it accentuates the assets.

Wide Leg Jeans: Loose fit from hip to hem, offering a flowy and comfortable silhouette. This is the most comfortable style of all the looks this season.

Trend Origin: Emphasis on comfort and relaxed fits.

Styling Tips: Great with cropped tops or fitted top like body suits, or close to the body blouses that are tucked in or front tucked. Wear with flats, sandals, sneakers or heels.

As you read through this blog, you might ask yourself, where are the skinny jeans? Well ladies, I am here to tell you, they do not make the list this year. It's not that you need to donate them all, but this season, these 5 styles are really just more "in style". Take it or leave it, but for now, maybe put your skinnies in the back of your closet.
