•Posted on October 02 2024
Finding shoes can be difficult, but finding shoes that are in style is even more difficult. If you're like me, you don't want to head to the store and purchase something because "it's safe"-- you want to know it's in style and is going to finish the style you are going for. The fastest way to ruin any style is to have the wrong shoes. This is why we do so much research at Sweet Elaine Boutique on what is in style and we tell all our customers too. That way, all Sweetlifers are hip and on trend each season! In today's blog we are going to summarize the top Shoe trends for Fall 2024. We will go over Fall Boot trends in a subsequent blog, so make sure you watch for that. This blog will focus on shoes in general.
Here are 7 main trends you will see in shoe styles for Fall 2024. Here is a topline summary so you're educated. If you love the shoes we've featured, you can click on each image or link and it will take you to the shoe to purchase.
Sweet Elaine Boutique does not sell shoes at the store, but we do sell shoes for DSW, Target and a few other retailers. So if you purchase off these links, the store will get credit for the sale.
The Top 7 Fall 2024 Shoe Trends
Women's Claire Knit Washable Ballet Flats - A New Day™. These flats are from Target and are washable! Bonus points for comfort too.
1. Ballet Flats. After several seasons of "being out of style" ballet flats are trending again and it's a good thing because they are sooooo comfortable. Ballet flats last had a moment during the leggings era of 2011-2017 and then they took a backseat in style. Now that wide leg everything is trending, ballet flats are back! Make sure your straight leg and wide legs are short enough to show your ankles so they look cute together and enjoy the comfort of this style.
2. Leopard Print. If you follow our blog, you will see Leopard print is trending big time in Fall 2024 style. We are seeing the same trend continuing in footwear. Classic leopard print patterns are the best choice here so they really do go with everything in your wardrobe.
Kelly & Katie Sophie Mary Jane Flat. These flats from DSW are comfortable and the Mary Jane strap add just enough extra style!
3. Mary Janes. Mary Jane style shoes change what is trending and what is not, but this style really never goes "out". This season, we are seeing a Mary Jane strap added to the classics you've seen for years. Like this ballet shoe example from DSW, has a Mary Jane strap. We are seeing lots of pumps with a Mary Jane strap too.
Kelly & Katie Alva Loafer. These loafers have a nice, professional look to them. You will love the added gold detail.
4. Loafers. Loafers have been in the forefront of footwear style for all of 2024 and we are seeing it continue into Fall. Sleek styled loafers, or chunky heel loafers....they're all working and trending to go with the Men's inspired looks of the 2024 Fall looks.
Jessica Simpson Vianne Bootie. A slouchy boot that is a fantastic color AND the kitten heel makes these boots so comfortable.
5. Boots. Boots and Fall go together like peas and carrots. You cannot have a beautiful Fall outfit without a great boot. As stated above, we will go deeper into boot trends for Fall 2024 in a subsequent blog, but for now, just know boots are "in". Specifically boots with a "slouchy" shaft is what we're seeing the most. Mid calf boots are also more popular than an ankle or knee height. That's not saying those other two styles are "out" but mid calf is definitely a more trendy look.
6. Kitten Heels. In general, we are seeing a "shortening" of shoe trends in 2024. Kitten heels started trending in Spring and this lower profile heel will continue into Fall 2024. Kitten heel is defined by a heel less than 2", usually 1.5".
Women's Nike Waffle Debut Running Shoe. This classic Nike style is back and this season they even made it in a Leopard pattern!
7. Sneakers. Sneakers of the fashion variety are trending the most. Sneakers have been slowly making inroads into fashion and finishing outfits over the past few years. We are seeing this trend continue into Fall 2024 and we're here for it. Vintage, throwback 70s and 80s looks in sneakers is what seems to be trending the most.
Hopefully these top line trends are helpful to you as you look into your closet and give it a good update. Thoughtful and thorough updates seasonally are so important to make sure you are staying with the styles and not falling behind in your own personal look.
